Buck comes from the Mekong, he came to Phu Quoc Ridge with his brother Chase and his sister Mekong. Prior to arriving to the USA, Buck was treated in the hospital for Parvo virus, intestinal worms and malnourishment. He spent approximately one month in the medical hospital in Saigon. He has recovered fully from the Parvo virus and other ailments.
Buck is a happy dog, he like other dogs and he like to chase the ball. Because of his past he is quite shy and slow to get to know people. However, once he breaks thru he is the sweetest soul we know, human or dog. He is not the dog that will jump on you when he sees you, his initial concerns when he meets you is your mood. Like all of our dogs, Buck can not be physically corrected for unwanted behavior. He is very sensitive to mood and physical contact while a person is mad or upset will cause him to mistrust.
Buck loves to cuddle on the couch and get scratched on his back. He loves to eat raw beef bones too. Dinner time is probably his second favorite activity next to getting scratched/rubbed/loved on. Buck has lived outside in Vietnam and in our kennel here in the USA. He does not potty in the kennel, but he has not been in a house environment. I want to say this about Buck, he really wants to do it right and we believe with little effort and some encouragement Buck will learn all the rules of the house very easily, including potty rules.
Buck came from a dog family of six. Three left Vietnam with the original owner to Canada, and Buck, Chase and Mekong were taken in by Phu Quoc Ridge. The previous owner did not vaccinate these three and it appeared they were not fed as well. Buck and his brother and sister were all very underweight due to the intestinal worms and poor diet. Lucky for Buck….he found Phu Quoc Ridge!
He has been with us for about a year now and Buck is ready for his own family. His ability to trust people has come a long way and it continues to improve. He will make a fantastic family pet that would love to go on camping trips, hikes and long walks with people that he loves.
If Buck sounds like a match for you, please contact us and lets arrange a meeting.
